Norma platí pro výrobu, dodávání a zkoušení podšívkových obuvnických usní tříslených, chromitých a chromitotříslených z hovězin přírodních i barvených. Norma předepisuje zkoušku na obsah oxidu chromitého podle ČSN 79 3872 (max. 3,0 - 7,0 %) a na obsah vyluhovatelného chromu podle ČSN 79 3873 (max.100 µg.g-1). ČSN 79 2710 byla schválena 30.9.1981 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.7.1982. Nahradila ČSN 79 2710 a ČSN 79 2716, obě z 12.12.1955
