Norma platí pro výrobu, dodávání a zkoušení podšívkových usní chromitých a chromitotříslených z kozin a kozlečin přírodních i barvených. Norma předepisuje zkoušku na obsah oxidu chromitého podle ČSN 79 3872, jehož množství stanovuje na max. 2,3 - 7,0 % u usní chromitých a 1,0 - 2,5 % u usní chromitotříselných a dále zkoušku vyluhovatelného chromu podle ČSN 79 3873. Přípustný výluh stanoví na max. 100 µg.g-1 u obou druhů usní. ČSN 79 2710 byla schválena 28.1.1982 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.10.1982. Nahradila ČSN 79 2715 z r.1962
