Norma platí pro výrobu, dodávání a zkoušení podšívkových usní chromitých a chromitotříslených z vepřovic a vepřovicových štípenek, přírodních i barvených. Obsah oxidu chromitého je normalizován na 2 - 5 % , není uvedeno, že se zkouší výluh Cr, ani jeho přípustná hodnota. (Viz dále "změna a/".) ČSN 79 2721 byla schválena 19.10.1979 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.10.1980. Nahradila ČSN 79 2721 z r.1956 a ČSN 79 2735 z r. 1957. "Změnou a)-7/1983" se s účinností od 1.10.1983 doplňuje pod poř. č. 13 v tabulce max. obsah vyluhovatelného chromu na 100 µg.g-1, což se zkouší podle ČSN 79 3873
