Tato technická specifikace se týká aktivních detektorů s infračerveným paprskem (AIBD) instalovaných uvnitř budov a jsou používány jako součást poplachových zabezpečovacích systémů.
Specifikuje čtyři stupně zabezpečení 1 až 4 (v souladu s EN 50131-1) a používá třídy prostředí I až IV (v souladu s EN 50130-5).
Tato norma se vztahuje pouze na detektory AIBD používající technologie na bázi přerušení. Další technologie, např. technologie založená na Dopplerově jevu nejsou předmětem tohoto dokumentu.
