Tato norma je první ze dvou částí norem týkajících se svařovaných dutých profilů z konstrukčních nelegovaných a jemnozrnných ocelí, tvářených za studena. V první části normy jsou specifikovány technické dodací podmínky. Pro účely obou částí normy obsahuje část první definice termínů "tváření za studena", "normalizační válcování" a "termomechanické válcování" Norma rovněž stanovuje údaje, které je nutné poskytnout výrobci při objednávání svařovaných dutých profilů, a požadavky, jimž musí odpovídat duté profily z nelegovaných a jemnozrnných konstrukčních ocelí. Norma dále udává kontrolní postupy pro nelegované oceli a pro jemnozrnné oceli. Normativní příloha D je věnována hodnocení shody a systému řízení výroby
