Tato evropská norma stanovuje požadavky na bezpečnost, konstrukci a provozní vlastnosti ručně ovládaných armatur a seřizovacích armatur pro spotřebiče plynných paliv a pro podobné účely. Norma platí pro armatury se stanovenými maximálními vstupními přetlaky nejvýše 50 kPa (500 mbar) a s připojovacími rozměry odpovídajícími jmenovité světlosti nejvýše DN 50, které jsou použitelné pro jedno nebo více paliv v souladu s EN 437. Norma neplatí pro ručně ovládané uzavírací armatury podle EN 331.
