Tato norma je českou verzí evropské normy EN 12262:1998. Evropská norma EN 12262:1998 má status české technické normy. Tato evropská norma stanoví technické dokumenty pro hydrodynamická čerpadla vyžadované v rámci poptávky, nabídky, objednávky odběratele, uzavírání smlouvy nebo dodávání pro průmyslové účely. Pouze česky je uvedeno 21 termínů, jejich definice a konečně i obsahová náplň definovaného dokumentu. Norma obsahuje tyto kapitoly: kapitolu 1 - Předmět normy, kapitolu 2 - Normativní odkazy, kapitolu 3 - Termíny, definice a obsahová náplň technických dokumentů, kapitolu 4 - Vyžadovaný rozsah technických dokumentů, kapitolu 5 - Výkresové provedení a kapitolu 6 - Stupeň vyhotovení. Dále norma uvádí informativní Přílohu A. ČSN EN 12262 (11 3120) byla vydána v září 1999
