Tato evropská norma uvádí metodu pro stanovení konzistence čerstvého betonu zkouškou sednutím. Zkouška sednutím reaguje na změny konzistence betonu, které odpovídají sednutím mezi 10 mm a 210 mm. Měření konzistence mimo tyto hranice sednutí může být nevhodné a měly by se použít jiné metody stanovení konzistence. Jestliže sednutí pokračuje i po době 1 minuty po vytažení kužele, zkouška sednutím je nevhodná pro měření konzistence. Zkouška není vhodná, jestliže největší deklarovaná hodnota D nejhrubší frakce kameniva (Dmax) v betonu je větší než 40 mm
