A1 Tato část této evropské normy byla vypracována k podpoře částí 4 až 10, které se týkají jednotlivých požadavků na ocelová drátěná lana pro použití ve specifických aplikacích. Nemohou proto existovat samostatně. Tato část specifikuje všeobecné požadavky pro výrobu a zkoušení ocelového drátěného lana, jehož jednotlivé požadavky jsou specifikovány v dalších částech. Příloha A uvádí režimy typového zkoušení sériově vyráběných lan. Příloha B uvádí zkušební požadavky na dráty odebrané z lana, které je specifikováno v dalších částech této normy.
