Norma stanovuje metody odběru vzorků z ingotů nebo bloků olova a slitin olova pro účely chemického rozboru nebo pro účely spektrometrického rozboru optickou emisní spektrometrií (OES) s jiskrovým buzením. Základními metodami odběru vzorků je, buď odběr vzorku z roztaveného kovu a jeho ztuhnutí ve vzorkovací formě, nebo odběr vzorku ve tvaru třísek vrtáním nebo řezáním hotových ingotů. Pro obě metody je stanoven rozsah odběru vzorků a příprava laboratorního vzorku
