Tento dokument (EN 1333:2006) byl vypracován technickou komisí CEN/TC 74 "Příruby a přírubové spoje", jejíž sekretariát zajišťuje DIN. Tento dokument nahrazuje EN 1333:1996. Tento dokument je vypracován podle mezinárodní normy ISO 7268:1983, avšak matoucí definice "jmenovitý tlak" byla vynechána, neboť volně souvisí s nejvyšším dovoleným tlakem. Tato evropská norma uvádí definici PN, která platí pro součásti potrubních systémů tak, jak se uvádí v evropských normách, které používají systém označování PN. Tato norma stanovuje číselná označení PN, která se používají.
