Tato evropská norma stanovuje technické a funkční vlastnosti pro všechny typy teploměrů (elektronické, mechanické, atd.) pro vybavení prostředků používaných pro přepravu, skladování a distribuci chlazených, zmrazených a hluboce zmrazených/rychle zmrazených potravin a zmrzliny a pro měření vnitřní teploty výrobků. Stanovuje zkušební metody, které umožňují ověřit shodu daného zařízení s požadavky na použitelnost a provedení. Platí pro celek indikátor - snímač teploty. Snímač teploty smí být zabudován v teploměru nebo smí být od něho vzdálen (vnější snímač teploty).
