Tato evropská norma stanovuje postupy pro klasifikaci střech/střešních krytin vystavených vnějšímu požáru, založené na čtyřech zkušebních metodách podle CEN/TS 1187:2012 a příslušných pravidlech pro rozšířenou aplikaci. Pro klasifikaci střech/střešních krytin se použijí pouze ty zkušební metody a pravidla pro aplikaci, u nichž se předpokládá odpovídající klasifikace. Výrobky se posuzují ve vztahu k jejich konečnému použití. POZNÁMKA: Rozdíl mezi střechami se strmým sklonem a průčelím (fasádou) v otázce použité zkoušky a klasifikační normy, může podléhat národním nařízením.
