Tato norma určuje metody pro stanovení odolnosti vůči tepelnému šoku kameniva, vystaveného ohřívání a vysychání, při výrobě horkých asfaltových směsí. Norma popisuje referenční metodu používanou při zkouškách typu a v případě sporu. Pro účely zkoušek typu a v případě sporu by se měla použít pouze referenční metoda. V jiných případech, konkrétně při kontrole řízení výroby, smí být použity jiné metody s podmínkou, že jsou vhodné a podobné stanovené referenční metodě
