Tato norma určuje specifikaci pultrudovaných (tažených) profilů. Specifikace uvádí minimální hodnoty technických parametrů konstrukčních pultrudovaných profilů ve vztahu ke dvěma třídám normy. Specifikace udává třídy, které jsou značeny kódem Exx. Tento kód souvisí s efektivním modulem pružnosti profilu měřeným pomocí zkoušení délky celého profilu. Jsou definovány dvě třídy a to: E23 a E17. V jednotlivých tabulkách normy ČSN EN 13706-3 jsou uvedeny vlastnosti, kterých musí být dosaženo pro každou z tříd profilu a dále také vlastnosti, které mohou být stanoveny. V kapitole 4 této normy jsou uvedeny odkazy na zkušební metody pro stanovení vlastností k určení vhodnosti profilu pro specifickou aplikaci.
