Tato evropská norma specifikuje vzorkování a požadavky na analytické stanovení tuhého aerosolu spalin dieselových motorů v pracovním prostředí. Časově vážené střední hodnoty hmotnostní koncentrace se měří pro komponenty tuhého aerosolu spalin dieselových motorů, tedy pro organický uhlík (OC), elementární uhlík (EC) a celkový uhlík (TC). Tato evropská norma umožňuje uživatelům vybrat postup ke stanovení pracovní expozice pro tuhý aerosol spalin dieselových motorů (DPM) a podle jednotného přístupu tím získat přímo porovnatelné výsledky.
