Kyslík rozptýlený v zemině se dostává do styku s geosyntetickými izolacemi a způsobuje jejich oxidační degradaci. Tato evropská norma stanoví metodu zkoušení pro orientační stanovení odolnosti polyethylenových a polypropylenových geosyntetických izolací vůči oxidaci při používání po dobu minimálně 25 let. Zkušební vzorky se vystaví v sušárně působení zvýšené teploty ovzduší. Po uplynutí stanovené doby vystavení se porovnává pevnost a tažnost vystavených a srovnávacích vzorků, které nebyly vystaveny působení teploty.
