Norma stanoví požadavky pro automatické hasicí protivýbuchové systémy pro razicí stroje (razicí stroje s řeznými orgány) v ražených chodbách, kde tyto systémy automaticky detekují výbuch důlního plynu v počátečním stádiu, způsobený řeznou hlavou razicího stroje, a uhasí výbuch v chodbě tak, že osádka ražby není ohrožena. Norma neuvádí žádné požadavky na zdolávání požáru v důlní chodbě. Automatické systémy pro hašení výbuchu u razicích strojů jsou autonomním ochranným systémem, navrženým v souladu se směrnicí 94/9/EC (nařízení vlády č. 23/2003 Sb.).
