Norma popisuje metodu pro stanovení obsahu chloridů v zatvrdlém betonu. Pro přesné stanovení obsahu chloridů je třeba odebrat z konstrukce vzorky betonu a provést jejich chemickou analýzu. Referenčními metodami chemické analýzy betonu pro stanovení obsahu chloridů jsou Volhardova metoda nebo potenciometrická titrace. Obsah chloridů může být vyjádřen jako procento hmotnosti cementu nebo procento hmotnosti betonu. Obsah cementu v betonu pro odvození obsahu chloridů vzhledem k množství cementu muže být stanoven kvalifikovaným odhadem, pomocí chemické analýzy, nebo zjištěn v záznamech ze stavby
