Tato norma stanovuje dvě rozdílné metody elektrotermické atomizace atomovou absorpční spektrometrií (ET AAS) pro stanovení stříbra, arzenu, bismutu, kadmia, kobaltu, chromu, železa, manganu, niklu, olova, antimonu, selenu, cínu, teluru a zinku v mědi (více než 99,85 %) ve formě netvářených, tvářených a odlitých výrobků. Metoda A je použitelná pro výrobky obsahující koncentrace doprovodných prvků nad 1,0 µg/g. Metoda B (metoda standardních přídavků) je použitelná pro výrobky obsahující koncentrace doprovodných prvků pod 1,0 µg/g. Tato metoda používá speciální zařízení pro ET AAS vybavené korekcí pozadí pomocí Zeemannova efektu
