A1 Tato evropská norma specifikuje metodu stanovení hustoty a specifické hmotnosti asfaltů. Porovnávají se hmotnosti stejných objemů vzorku asfaltu a zkušební kapaliny ve vhodném kalibrovaném pyknometru. Vhodný je zde na rozdíl od jiných ropných látek širokohrdlý Hubbardův pyknometr podle ISO 3705. Kalibrovaný Hubbardův pyknometr se plní zkoušeným asfaltem přibližně do tří čtvrtin objemu, zbytek se doplní zkušební kapalinou. To umožní stanovení s vyšší přesností, než při použití jiných pyknometrů a metod.
