Norma stanoví metodu obráceného modelování rozptylu pro určení hmotnostních toků fugitivních emisí difúzních zdrojů jemných a hrubých prachových částic v rámci průmyslových podniků či území. Její použití je založeno na výpočtech rozptylového modelu a na definování experimentálního uspořádání v daném území s ohledem na terénní charakteristiky jako je počet, výška a šířka difúzních zdrojů prachových částic, vzdáleností vzorkovacích bodů a meteorologických parametrů.
