Tato norma stanovuje metodiku zkoušení určenou pro výrobky ze skla s vyžadovanou požární odolností. Tato metodika zahrnuje typové zkoušení podle příslušné výrobkové normy pro sklo. Shodná metodika může být použita také pro stanovení klasifikace odolnosti pro uplatnění na trhu (viz příloha B). Metodika platí pro všechny typy výrobků ze skla, u kterých může být požadováno zkoušení a klasifikace požární odolnosti.
Zkoušení požární odolnosti se týká konečné aplikace, jako např.:

- - příčky, stěny (včetně závěsových obvodových stěn);
- - podlahy; střechy;
