Norma stanoví postup hodnocení stupně povrchových změn vyvolaných působením plísní a řas na nátěry a uvádí klasifikační schéma pro označení intenzity rozpoznatelného růstu plísní a řas, množství změn a procentuálního podílu plochy změn. Norma neplatí pro hodnocení změn způsobených zamodráním zpracovaného dřeva na jeho povrchu. Stupnice pro hodnocení zamodrání natřeného a nenatřeného dřeva je specifikována v EN 152:2011, 8.5.2. Norma je obdobou jednotlivých částí ČSN EN ISO 4628 (hodnocení degradace nátěrů)
