Tato norma stanoví horizontální referenční metodu stanovení emisí regulovaných nebezpečných látek ze stavebních výrobků do vnitřního ovzduší. Tato metoda je použitelná pro těkavé organické látky, částečně těkavé organické látky a velmi těkavé aldehydy a amoniak. Je založena na použití zkušební komory a následné analýze organických látek pomocí GC-MS nebo HPLC a v případě amoniaku následné analýze spektrofotometrickými metodami nebo jinými ekvivalentními analytickými metodami (např. iontovou chromatografií a amoniovou elektrodou)
