Tato norma specifikuje metodu detekce ošetření ionizujícím zářením u potravin obsahujících tuk. Během ozáření potravin obsahujících tuk je rozštěpena acyl-kyslíková vazba v triglyceridech a tato reakce vede k tvorbě 2-alkylcyklobutanonů obsahujících stejný počet atomů uhlíku jako mateřské mastné kyseliny a alkyl skupina je umístěna v kruhové pozici 2. Vzniklé 2-alkylcyklobutanony jsou ve vyextrahovaném tuku stanoveny plynovou chromatografií s hmotnostní detekcí.
