V normě ČSN EN 1806 jsou stanoveny požadavky na pálené/keramické komínové tvárnice s plnými stěnami nebo se stěnami s vertikálními dutinami. Tvárnice jsou bez napojení nebo s napojovací částí pro provázání s přilehlou stěnou. Tepelná izolace ve stěně tvárnice je buď ve vertikálních dutinách nebo přichycena na vnější líc stěny. Z pálených keramických komínových tvárnic je montován kompletní jednovrstvý komín nebo jsou tvárnice součástí vícevrstvého komína. Norma obsahuje typy tvárnic, materiály a parametry komínových tvárnic, požadavky na zkoušení a označování.
