uvádí zásady a pravidla pro výpočet zatížení teplotou u pozemních staveb, mostů a dalších konstrukcí včetně jejich nosných prvků. Poskytuje zásady pro obvodový plášť a další příslušenství budov. Jsou zde také uvedeny pokyny pro zatížení teplotou u konstrukcí, jako jsou chladicí věže, zásobníky, nádrže, teplá a studená skladovací zařízení, u nichž vzhledem k jejich funkci představuje zatížení teplotou rozhodující vliv. Charakteristické hodnoty zatížení teplotou uváděné v ČSN EN 1991-1-5 slouží k navrhování staveb, které jsou vystaveny klimatickým změnám teploty během dne a ročních období. Rozlišují se čtyři základní složky zatížení teplotou: rovnoměrná složka, lineárně proměnné rozdílové složky a nelineární rozdílová složka teploty. ČSN EN 1991-1-5 uvádí české národní mapy maximálních a minimálních teplot vzduchu ve stínu.
