Tato norma stanovuje potřebné parametry pro anodickou oxidaci v kyselině chromové bez utěsnění nebo s utěsněním vzniklého oxidového povlaku a rovněž požadavky na zabezpečování jakosti vzniklého povlaku. Využívá se pro součásti z hliníku a tvářených hliníkových slitin kategorie 1 a 2 (viz kapitola 4) používaných v leteckých a kosmických konstrukcích, pokud je na tuto normu odkaz.
