Norma je identická s EN 464:1994. Specifikuje zkušební metodu stanovení odolnosti plynotěsného obleku vůči pronikání plynů, například velkými otvory, připevněními, švy, překrytími mezi díly, póry a všemi vadami v materiálu výrobku. Normalizována je podstata zkoušky, která stanoví: "Poté co byl oblek nafouknut na definovaný tlak, je stanoven následný únik vzduchu, zaznamenáním tlaku zjištěného po definovaném časovém úseku." Postup zkoušky je podrobně popsán. ČSN EN 464 (83 2725) byla vydána v červnu 1996
