Tato evropská norma specifikuje požadavky na ochranná zařízení proti zemnímu svodu a proti přerušení obvodu určené k ochraně obvodů svíticích trubic provozovaných s transformátory podle EN 61050 a pracujících s napětím naprázdno vyšším než 1 kV a nepřevyšujícím 10 kV. Stanovuje, které doplňující informace musí být uvedeny v návodech výrobce, podle použitelnosti, jak pro ochranné zařízení proti zemnímu svodu tak pro ochranné zařízení proti přerušení obvodu. Požadavky na instalaci ochranných zařízení proti zemnímu svodu a proti přerušení obvodu jsou uvedeny v EN 50107-1.
