Tento dokument platí pro olověné baterie používané v těžkých vozidlech. Cílem tohoto dokumentu je specifikovat evropské požadavky hlavních rozměrů startovacích baterií. U nového a budoucího vývoje výše uvedených aplikací se očekává, že budou použity pouze baterie z řady "Preferované typy". Baterie řady "Ostatní typy" existují podle několika národních norem. Byly převedeny z předchozí normy EN 60095-4. Upřednostňované typy A, B a C jsou nově zavedeny a úzce odpovídají typům D4, D5 a D6 s určitými rozdíly v tolerancích a rozměrech
