Norma zahrnuje převzetí překladem evropskou normu EN 50497:2007. Zkušební metoda popsaná v této normě ukazuje, pomocí zrychlené zkoušky, samostatné vypocování změkčovadla z PVC izolace a pláště kabelů. Tato metoda se použije při okolnostech, kdy výrobce určuje, že zde mohou být zvláštní nebezpečí, která se nemohou určit pouze použitím zkoušky kompatibility podle EN 60811-1-2, 8.1.4. Tato zkouška je určena jako kvalitativní zkouška na hotovém výrobku a ne jako individuální materiálová zkouška.
