Tato evropská norma je použitelná na zpracování odpadů elektrických a elektronických zařízení (OEEZ). Tato norma bude doplněna například normami, které se týkají konkrétních zařízení. POZNÁMKA - Tato evropská norma je určena k tomu, aby zahrnula OEEZ, které vznikají z elektrických a elektronických zařízení, uvedených v příloze I a příloze III směrnice 2012/19/ES. Tato norma se použije na zpracování OEEZ dokud není dosaženo stavu, kdy přestává být odpadem nebo dokud není OEEZ připraven k opětovnému použití, je recyklován, využit nebo odstraněn. Tato norma se vztahuje na všechny subjekty, které se podílejí na zpracování, včetně manipulace, třídění a skladování OEEZ
