Norma definuje energetické hodnocení středních výkonových transformátorů v souladu s EN 50708-1-1:2020. V kapitole Jmenovité údaje a obecné požadavky se uvádí mj. hodnoty přednostních napětí pro vinutí s Um > 1,1 kV a se jmenovitým napětím pro vinutí s Um <= 1,1 kV a část energetickému hodnocení. V této části jsou tabulky s požadavky na ztráty, impedance nakrátko a hladiny akustického výkonu pro transformátory ponořené do kapaliny a rovněž pro suché transformátory. Jeden článek se věnuje transformátorům se zvláštními požadavky, konkrétně distribučním transformátorům s regulací napětí a trojfázovým transformátorům ponořeným do kapaliny, montovaným na stožárech
