Tato norma je českou verzí evropské normy EN 60068-2-77:1999. Evropská norma EN 60068-2-77:1999 má status české technické normy. Oznámení o schválení: Text mezinárodní normy IEC 60068-2-77:1999 byl schválen CENELEC jako evropská norma bez jakýchkoliv modifikací. Tato sedmdesátá sedmá část IEC 60068 (v ČR ČSN EN 60068) poskytuje zkušební metody použitelné pro povrchově montované součástky (SMD) vyrobené ze skla nebo slitinových materiálů, jako jsou kondenzátory, rezistory a indukčnosti, včetně feritů. Existují dvě zkušební metody: zkouška pevnosti těla součástky a zkouška úderem. Cílem obou zkoušek je zhodnotit mechanické namáhání, působící na SMD součástku během montáže a po ní. Tyto zkoušky sledují různá mechanická namáhání. ČSN EN 60068-2-77 (34 5791) byla vydána v lednu 2000
