Tato norma specifikuje požadavky na lakovaný měděný vodič pro vinutí, pravoúhlého průřezu, třídy 220, s jednoduchou vrstvou z polyamid-imidové pryskyřice, kterou lze modifikovat za předpokladu, že bude chemicky totožná s původní pryskyřicí a splní všechny předepsané požadavky na vodič. Rozsah jmenovitých rozměrů jader, na které se tato norma vztahuje, je tento: šířka min. 2,0 mm, max. 16,0 mm; tloušťka min. 0,80 mm, max. 5,60 mm. Vodiče stupně 1 a stupně 2 jsou zahrnuty do této specifikace, která platí pro celý rozsah jader. Předepsané kombinace šířky a tloušťky, stejně jako předepsaný poměr šířka/tloušťka, jsou uvedeny v IEC 60317-0-2
