Tento oddíl Části 2 IEC 60598 stanovuje požadavky na svítidla pro osvětlení pozemních komunikací se žárovkami, zářivkami a jinými výbojkami na napájecí napětí nepřesahující 1000 V. Nové vydání normy uvádí doplněné a upřesněné požadavky zkoušek na svítidla pro osvětlení pozemních komunikací a pro jiná veřejná venkovní osvětlení, rozšířené o požadavky na svítidla pro osvětlení tunelů a pro stožárová svítidla o minimální celkové výšce 2,5 m nad úrovní terénu.
