Norma uvádí přímou transmisní metodu měření směrovosti mezi kanály mnohobranných vlnově neselektivních optických vláknových odbočnic MxN. Pro měření směrovosti definované jako část záření přecházející z určité vstupní brány na jinou bránu od ní izolovanou, norma předepisuje potřebnou měřicí výbavu, popisuje měřicí postupy a uvádí údaje, které se musí pro toto měření stanovit.
