Tato norma stanoví kódy značení neproměnných induktorů. Barevný kód (doporučuje se především kód ze čtyř barevných pásků) specifikovaný v kapitole 3 udává barevné kódování hodnot indukčnosti a tolerance. Jeho použití je vhodné pro hodnoty induktorů řady E 3 až E 24, specifikovaných v IEC 60063. Kód specifikovaný v kapitole 4 stanoví systém pro značení hodnot indukčností pomocí číslic a písmen.
