Tato norma uvádí seznam metod zkoušek použitelných pro zobrazovací zařízení s kapalnými krystaly. Norma bere na zřetel, pokud je to možné, metody zkoušek mechanické odolnosti podle IEC 60068. Zařízením (device) se v této normě rozumí buňky a moduly. Cílem této normy je stanovit jednotné preferované metody zkoušek s preferovanými hodnotami úrovní namáhání pro posouzení mechanických vlastností zobrazovacích zařízení s kapalnými krystaly.
