Tato část souboru norem uvádí zvláštní bezpečnostní požadavky vztahující se na střídače, jakož i na výrobky, které mají nebo vykonávají funkce měniče kromě jiných funkcí, kde střídač je určený pro použití ve fotovoltaických systémech. Střídače podle této normy mohou být interaktivní se sítí, samostatné nebo s více režimy, mohou být dodány do jednoho nebo více fotovoltaických modulů, seskupeny v různých konfiguracích polí a mohou být určeny pro použití ve spojení s bateriemi nebo jinými formami skladování energie. Tato norma se musí používat společně s ČSN EN 62109-1 (36 4651)
