Tato norma popisuje a stanoví požadavky na softwarové a hardwarové rozhraní pro vlnově selektivní přepínač 1x9. Tyto přepínače lze ovládat přes toto rozhraní prostřednictvím firmwaru, který je trvale uložen v paměti. Norma se zabývá konfigurací pro ovládání WSS. Toto rozhraní umožňuje uživateli nebo hostiteli obnovit stav spínače a/nebo přizpůsobit odpovídající nastavení přepínače a útlumu.
