Tato část souboru norem poskytuje informaci pro integraci protokolu FOUNDATION_ Fieldbus (FF) do normy FDT (ČSN EN 62453-2). Norma popisuje komunikační definice, rozšíření specifického protokolu a představení prostředků pro blok (např. měniče, prostředky nebo funkční bloky). Nové definice specifické pro protokoly, jsou založeny na specifikacích FF pro protokoly H1 a HSE. Dále obsahují definice informace, které systém potřebuje pro konfiguraci FF zařízení. Rodina komunikačních protokolů 1 (obecně známá jako FOUNDATION_ Fieldbus) definuje komunikační profily založené na ČSN EN 61158 2, Typ 1, ČSN EN 61158 3 1, ČSN EN 61158 4 1, ČSN EN 61158 5 5, ČSN EN 61158 5 9, ČSN EN 61158 6 5, a ČSN EN 61158 6 9.
