Norma definuje geometrický tvar, rozměry, materiály a značení osvědčených typů speciálních hmoždíků, používaných ve spojích mezi prvky dřevěných konstrukcí. Speciální hmoždíky jsou zatříděny do čtyř skupin: A - prstencové hmoždíky (6 typů); B - talířové hmoždíky (4 typy); C - ozubené hmoždíky (11 typů); D - ostatní speciální hmoždíky (1 typ).
