Tato norma popisuje modelovou hlavu a trup nebo figurínu určenou k měření zdrojů zvuku umístěných v blízkosti ucha ve frekvenčním rozsahu od 100 Hz do 16 000 Hz. Figurína popsaná v tomto dokumentu je určena pouze pro akustická měření se vzdušným vedením. Není vhodná pro měření, která závisí na přenosových cestách vibrací, jako např. vedení kostí, nebo pro měření vyžadující simulaci kostí nebo tkání.
