Tato část souboru norem je normou skupiny výrobků použitelná na přístrojové transformátory s digitálním výstupem. Norma výrobku sestává z části 1 a části 6 spolu s touto normou a odpovídající normou výrobku ze souboru IEC 61869 (části 7, 8, 12, 13, 14 a 15). Tato norma definuje požadavky pro digitální komunikaci při měření přístrojovými transformátory.
