Tato evropská norma specifikuje výpočtovou metodu pro stanovení hodnoty energetické bilance zasklení. Evropská norma se vztahuje na propustné materiály jako sklo a kombinace skla použité pro zasklení oken ve stavbách. Metoda je určena k vyhodnocení bilance tepelných ztrát a využitelných tepelných zisků ze slunečního záření pronikajícího do budovy zasklením za stanovené období pomocí průměrného podílu ztrát (nebo zisků) tepla, tzv. hodnoty energetické bilance. Tato metoda umožňuje srovnání chování zasklívacích výrobků.
