Tato část ISO 15877 specifikuje obecná hlediska pro potrubní systémy z chlorovaného polyvinylchloridu (PVC-C) určené pro rozvod horké a studené vody uvnitř budov bez ohledu na to, zda se jedná o vodu pitnou (domácí systémy) a pro vytápění, za výpočtových tlaků a teplot odpovídajících třídě použití. Zahrnuje rozsah provozních podmínek (třídy použití), výpočtové tlaky a rozměrové třídy trubek. Požadavky a metody zkoušení pro součásti potrubních systémů jsou specifikovány v části 2 a 3. Charakteristiky pro posouzení vhodnosti použití systému uvádí část 5, směrnici pro posuzování shody uvádí část 7.
