Tato mezinárodní norma specifikuje metody pro stanovení obsahu nerozpustných neutrálně detergentních vláknitých zbytků po úpravě vzorku amylázou ve všech typech krmiv. Zahrnuje rutinní gravimetrickou metodu a referenční metodu. Neutrálně detergentní (ND) roztok a tepelně stabilní amyláza se použijí k rozpuštění lehce stravitelných bílkovin, tuků, cukrů, škrobů a pektinů v krmivech, zanechávajících nerozpustné zbytky vlákniny, kterými jsou především složky buněčných stěn rostlinných materiálů (celulóza, hemicelulóza a lignin) a nestravitelné dusíkaté látky v živočišných produktech
